1) What got you into music? I was sitting in my room in 1985-86 and heard “Why Can’t This Be Love”, by Van Halen. I wanted to be Eddie Van Halen at that time, but later on, I realized I wanted to be a Sammy Hagar! Also, my Dad was always playing guitar are trumpet around the house when I was a kid. You tend to emulate those kinds of things.
2) Favorite band? Van Halen, the Beatles, Disturbed, Ozzy, No Doubt, Sammy Hagar, Paul McCartney, Brian Setzer, Sinatra and other big band/swing music, Prince... It is hard to narrow down, I have quite an extensive music collection.
3) Worst gig? Bamboo Harris 1st gig. Jeff Roby, Dave Williams, Jim and myself. I played bass and that’s never a good thing. We were the 1st of an 8 band line up in Indian Lake somewhere. We did not know what we were doing.
4) Best gig? All time?? On stage with Sammy Hagar Vets Memorial Columbus Ohio in 1997. With Bamboo Haris, Musically I would have to say one of the Lima prisons in 1997 in front of 800 inmates and staff. We played a tight rocked out hour and a half set and we just plain rocked!! People wise, I would have to say some of the Tammy Lynn gigs in Degraff, some of the Rumors gigs in Urbana, 500+ at the 151 club in Bellefontaine when we ran them out of 40 cases of Budweiser products! There are just too many shows....our fans have always been great. Some nights it can be pure madness!well. But, the all time greatest show was Prince at the Nutter Center. He must have played 40+ songs….absolutely amazing!
5) Best concert you’ve ever seen? Wow... that's all I do! Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, countless Van Halen shows, Disturbed just rules! I've been on stage with Sammy Hagar now three times! Foo, Judas Priest, Ozzfest... The list goes on and on but, the all time greatest show of all time was Prince at the Nutter Center in Dayton Ohio. He must have played 40+ songs!!
