1. When did you join the band.
I started to hanging out with the band around March of 2004. Shortly after that
I began to learn how to run sound and became the Sound man. In May of 2006 I
stepped in as the bass player.
2. What got you into music.
Growing up I was always around music. I would listen to it and watch old
concerts on VHS tapes with Dad. My Great-Grandfather was a musician so I guess
it’s kind of in the blood.
3. How long have you been playing.
I bought my first bass around the end of 2002 into the beginning of 2003. It
was probably midways of 2003 that I started telling myself that I bought this
thing so I better start learning it. I would play a few notes and put it down
and procrastinate. Around the beginning of 2006 I really started to learn more
of what I could do and I am still learning new things to this day. When I look
at my progress, I’m still standing at the bottom of a mountain but I’m goint to
reach the top.
4. Favorite Band.
There are so many but Black Label Society and KISS are right there at the top.
Other bands include Sabbath, Ted Nugent, OZZY, Pantera. The list goes on and
on.
5. Influences.
Gene Simmons of KISS - Flying, fire breathing, spitting blood and not to mention
his "AXE" guitar.
Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath - I don't need to say any more.
Cliff Burton of Metallica - Pure genius. I recently had a chance to watch
Cliff'em All and kicked myself in the ass for watching it sooner.
Zakk Wylde of OZZY & BLS - Bad ass guitar player. In my book one of the best
there has ever been.
Dimebag Darrell of Pantera & Damageplan - I know its a sin but I did not really
listen to Pantera untill I had the opportunity to see Damageplan live. Sadly
shortly after that, his magical powers were cut short. Riff In Peace.
6. Best Gig.
I would say that the best gig I have played at has to be the Saint Patrick’s
Show. That was a party. Look at the pictures and you’ll see what I mean.
7. Worst Gig.
I like to play at Johnny’s USA but
unfortunately I had a run of bad luck there. The first time we played there I
blew my speaker. At the time I thought it was my head so I bought a new Gallian
Kreuger Backline 600. Then I realized, oops it was the speaker the whole damn
time. The next time we played there, I was using my Peavey 4 x12 cab,
unknowingly that it was wired wrong, and overheated my new head. Since then we
have played there a few more times and everything has been good as gold with the
equipment.
